More than a century of closure technology

Tri-Sure^{^®} origins lie with Bernard Van Leer, a Dutch industrialist and philanthropist. In 1919, he started a packaging company in the Netherlands that developed into the world leader in the packaging industry.

2013

The paint and coating facility of Vreeland, Netherlands is now part of the Tri-Sure brand. It was established in 1963 by Van Leer to produce external paint for steel drums and in 1963 the first internal coating for steel drums was added, developing in 1998 the RDL^® system which became a worldwide standard to consistently measure the coating performance and classification in steel drums.

BPA-Free Lining

Given the dynamic changes in regulations regarding Bisphenol A (BPA) in Food Contact Materials (FCMs) across Europe, we are dedicated to keeping you updated on the latest developments and necessary actions. The European Commission proposed a near complete ban on BPA in FCMs in the spring of 2024, followed by a transition period lasting until the end of 2025.
